Officials identify woman killed in Windham house fire


One woman was killed in a house fire in Windham on Monday.

Officials confirmed to News 8 that at around 4:50 a.m., crews learned that a fire broke out in the house at 98 Bass Road.

One woman was found after the flames were put out. She died at the hospital and has been identified as 62-year-old Cynthia LaFontaine.

The medical examiner will do an autopsy.

The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit and State Police Fire and Explosion Unit are investigating the blaze.
