PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – A 62-year-old man has died in a house fire in Plainfield early Monday morning.
Just before 3 a.m., officers and the fire department were called to a four-family home on Sachem Drive. When crews arrived, they began evacuating residents.
Crews found a person, identified by the chief medical examiner’s office as Jason “Jake” Harvey, inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the cause of death was certified as smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
The Town of Plainfield Fire Marshal’s Office, the Plainfield Police Department, and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit are investigating the cause and origin of the fire
