PD: Alleged threat prompts police presence at Plainfield High School prom

There will be police present for Friday night’s prom at Plainfield High School after an alleged threat was made.

Just before 3 p.m., police say they received a report of an alleged threat about the Plainfield High School Prom. They say a 17-year-old made the alleged “alarming comment” in a classroom.

As a result of an investigation, police say there is no direct threat to the high school or the prom.

Officials say the teen was issued a summons for breach of peace and will appear at Willimantic Juvenile Court on Tuesday June 19.

Even though there is no direct threat, authorities say there will be a police at the prom on Friday night.
