Police say that someone reported that a threat was posted on social media. Investigators quickly determined that it was not true and a juvenile was arrested for interfering with police and filing a false report.
According to the school, all students in the middle school, as well as at Windham Early Childhood Center were safe within the building.
Police were at the school Tuesday but the district will meet with police on Wednesday.
Dr Patricia Garcia, the Superintendent of Schools said “we are disappointed and saddened by this incident.”
While Windham Middle School and the Windham Early Childhood Center will a be closed Wednesday, all other district schools will be open as normal.
This is the second threat the school recieved in less than a week. Late Friday, police were made aware of a threatening post on Instagram that targeted the school.
The first threatening post was a hoax too. Two juveniles have been arrested for making the separate threats.
