Friday was “Women and Girl’s Day” at the State Capitol, a tribute to the achievements of Connecticut women; past, present, and future.
Rep. Themis Klarides (R) Minority Leader said,
“Don’t let anybody stop you. Love yourself, believe in yourself, and just push forward no matter how many times people say you can’t do it.”
Olivia Taylor, a student said, “I still have room to change my point of view, and I have to get to know myself to do that, and I should do what I want because its what I want, not because it’s what anyone else wants me to do.”
The event was hosted by the Connecticut Commission on Women.
Dozens of students and leaders spoke about the strides made by women and the work that is still left to be done.
