Free shipping on online shopping returns

Consumer

(WTNH)– Some people choose shopping online because it’s so convenient. But sometimes when you get the item, it might not be the right fit or exactly what you wanted.

Tom Caporaso, CEO, Clarus Marketing Group joined GMCT to explain some of the downfalls.

Returns can definitely be a pain point for consumers. Research shows that online purchases are returned more frequently than in-store purchases, which makes sense. If you’re ordering clothes, for instance, you can’t try them on until you get them. Two-thirds of online shoppers check a retailer’s return policy before making a purchase.

The demand is there, so it would be smart of them to respond to it. Unfortunately, over 90 percent of online retailers currently charge their customers for return shipping.

Most companies are afraid they’d lose money if they offered free returns. The good news is that there are now programs where consumers can get free return shipping on all of their online purchases without relying on the retailer to provide it. My company even offers its own program, Return Saver.

Return Saver is a subscription program that, for only $49 per year, allows consumers to return an unlimited number of purchases no matter where they shop online within the United States. All subscribers have to do to return an item is go to the website to complete and print out a return label. Then they drop their package off at any FedEx location, and FedEx takes care of the rest. Shoppers can check it out at www.ReturnSaver.com.

There is no size and weight restrictions on returns. As long as FedEx Ground accepts the item, you can return it free with Return Saver!
