Hawaii is trying to ban sales of sunscreens that have certain chemicals in them.

The state says Oxybenzone and Octinoxate are considered harmful to coral reefs.

Some sunblock makers say this ban could cause fewer people to use sunscreen, thus increasing the risk of skin cancer.

The bill to ban them passed in May and Hawaii’s governor is expected to sign it this week.

The ban would take effect in 2021.
