Stop & Shop recalls Diamond Nuts products

PURCHASE, NY (WTNH) — Following a recall issued by Snyder’s Lance, Inc., Stop & Shop has announced the removal of Diamond Nuts products due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The following products are included in this recall:

  • Diamond Macadamia Halves & Pieces, 2.25 oz, UPC 7045074391 with lot numbers 16137D331S and 16159D331S and Best Before Dates of 16 NOV 2017 and 07 DEC 2017
  • Diamond Chopped Macadamia Nuts, 2.25 oz, UPC 7045074391 with lot numbers 16137D331S and 16159D331S and Best Before Dates of 16 NOV 2017 and 07 DEC 2017

Stop & Shop has received no reports of illnesses to date. Customers who have purchased this product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.

Salmonella infections can be life-threatening, especially to those with weak immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy. The most common manifestations of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within eight to 72 hours. Additional symptoms may be chills, headache, nausea and vomiting that can last up to seven days.
