Moped operator injured in Essex crash


ESSEX, Conn. (WTNH) — At least one person is injured after a crash involving a moped and a car Thursday evening.

State Police confirm to News 8 the crash occurred on Middlesex Turnpike at the bottom of the Exit 3 off-ramp of Route 9 South. Essex Fire Department Chief Andy Kressley said the call was dispatched around 7 p.m.

Kressley said the moped operator was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and the driver of the car was not injured.
