Crews battle 2nd alarm fire in Vernon


VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) — Firefighters battled a second alarm fire in Vernon Sunday night.

According to fire officials, crews were on scene at a second alarm fire at 42 Kenneth Drive.

Officials say the Vernon Fire Department received mutual aid from South Windsor, Manchester, Tolland and Ellington Fire Departments.

Authorities say one firefighter was injured and was transported to a nearby hospital.  There is no word on the extent of the firefighter’s injuries.

There is no word on the cause or the origin of this fire.
