New Haven FD: Crews arrive just in time to save burning home on Spring Street

New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Multiple emergency crews responded to a fire at a home in New Haven Sunday morning.

The two-alarm fire was reported near 7:45 a.m. at a residence on Spring Street near Cedar Street and Edgar Street — a few blocks away from New Haven Union Station.

The New Haven Fire Department responded to the scene. They tell News 8 they got there just in time.

“The guys worked really hard to get the fire under control early,” said New Haven Fire Dept. Deputy Chief James Watkins. “If they didn’t get here early, the house would’ve been a total loss, without a doubt.”

Seven lived in that building. The Red Cross is helping them.
