NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH)– A 22-year-old man was arrested on murder for hire charges in New Britain on Monday morning.
Police say at around 11:30 a.m., Talal Qatabi was taken into custody in the area of Broad Street after detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. Qatabi was charged with one count each of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder with Special Circumstances and Inciting Injury to Persons or Property.
The arrest warrant has been sealed and there were no further details given regarding the charges.
Police say at the time of his arrest, Qatabi had 10 vials of THC oil. Qatabi was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Failure to Appear. Police say the Failure to Appear warrant stems from a previous arrest out of Plainville.
Qatabi was held on bonds totaling $785,000.
