Ansonia police search for two suspects after home burglary

ANSONIA, Conn. (WTNH) – Ansonia police are looking for two men after a reported break in on North Main Street.

Police said they were dispatched to 417 North Main Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday after they received a report of a burglary in progress.

According to police, the homeowner said awoke to his burglar alarm going off and his dog barking.

Officers said when the homeowner got out of bed to check his residence armed with a handgun, he found a man inside the house with a gun.

According to police, he then chased the suspect out of the house where he found another male waiting outside of a broken window. The homeowner said he then began to fire shots at both men as they fled his property.

Police said no one was injured during the incident, but two cymbals from a drum kit were stolen.

No suspects have been identified yet and police are asking any one with information to contact the Ansonia Police Department at 203-735-1885.
