Arrest made in armed robbery of Hartford supermarket

An arrest was made Thursday in the armed robbery of a Hartford supermarket that happened earlier this week.

Police say that at around 7:41 p.m., officers received a call regarding an armed robbery that took place at the Crossroads Supermarket, at 1062 Albany Avenue,  on Tuesday. The caller said that the two people matching the descriptions of the armed suspects from that robbery were back in front of the store. 

Officers responded to the scene and during the investigation, they engaged in a foot chase with the suspects. They were able to apprehend 18-year-old Jasonte Mondo, of Hartford, who was allegedly was armed with a .380 semi-automatic pistol. 

According to police, Mondo confessed to the robbery that happened Tuesday at the supermarket. A warrant is now pending for that robbery.

For now, Mondo was charged with carrying a pistol and interfering with police. 

The incident remains under investigation.
