Arson arrest made after investigation into string of West Haven fires

An arrest has been made after a string of fires  happened at the Savin Rock Parkade in West Haven in the past few months. 

Police say that 38-year-old Patrick Savino, of West Haven, was charged with arson, criminal mischief and reckless burning in connection to a series of fires that occurred at the Savin Rock Plaza, since January 10th.

The arrest was a result of an investigation conducted by the West Haven Fire Marshal’s Office and the State Police into the three fires and one arson event in the rear of Family Dollar at 238 Captain Thomas Boulevard. 

One of those fires caused substantial damage to nearby businesses.

Savino was held on bond.
