Former West Haven officer due in court on Tuesday

A former West Haven Police Sergeant is due in court on Tuesday after being arrested and charged with 87 counts of forgery after he allegedly padded his paycheck with overtime.

David Tammaro, 49, of West Haven, turned himself in to Connecticut State PoliceWednesday morning on an active arrest warrant. Tammaro is accused of 87 counts of second degree forgery.

Former Sergeant Tamarro is accused of falsifying hours on overtime slips and forging the signatures of supervisors over the course of several years. 

Tamarro retired from the department back in August after being put on administrative leave.
