Hamden woman arrested for alleged unlawful firing off a firearm

Hamden police responded to an incident that occurred at 81 Briarcliff Road on Wednesday involving a shot fired in the area. 

According to police, investigation uncovered that residents Shannon Mosca, 28 of Hamden, and her boyfriend Tyrell Simms were involved in a verbal dispute. Mosca allegedly fired a single shot from a firearm into a front lawn. Police say Mosca’s 3 year-old daughter watched the incident unfold from a nearby window.

Hamden police arrested Mosca at her place of employment, a nearby Hamden restaurant. She is charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, among other charges.

Mosca was detained on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
