Hartford man arrested on firearm possession, trespassing


Police responded to a report of a suspect shooting paint ball gun rounds at kids in the area of Bond Street in Hartford

According to the Hartford police department, officers from the Street Crimes Unit dispatched to Bond Street for a tip from an anonymous citizen that a “shooter” was present in the Bond Street area.

During their investigation, police came across an male unconscious in a vehicle and parked in a driveway of the same street.

Upon approach, officers sighted narcotics in plain view. Further investigation revealed the trespassing suspect was in possession of an assault rifle, pistol, and numerous rounds of ammunition in the car. 

The suspect, 30-year-old Jose Rivera-Cruz, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of firearms, including one that was stolen, possession of a pistol without a permit, among others.
