Maintenance worker accused of sexually assaulting woman in her home


NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A maintenance worker will be in court today accused of sexually assaulting a woman who lives at the North Haven apartment complex where he works.

According to police, this assault happened back on May 8th at an apartment complex on State Street. Investigators say the female victim called 911 saying she had been sexually assaulted in her apartment.

She told police she first flagged down the maintenance man to fix her air conditioner. He’s been identified as 32-year-old Bernardo Corona.

The victim says the two were then alone in her apartment and before Corona left he began to kiss her, touch her and then take off some of her clothes.The woman then blacked out and when she woke up, Corona was gone.

– Trust your instincts- if you don’t feel comfortable about something get out of that situation.

The suspect in this assault will be arraigned today in Meriden.
