PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – One man was charged for having heroin in the car when he was pulled over around 11 p.m. Saturday night.

Police said Jequon Francis, 27, was traveling northbound on Norwich Road in the area of Xtra Mart Gas Station when an officer noticed he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Francis was pulled over and according to police, he was sweating profusely and acting nervous.

Police said they asked Francis to exit the vehicle because he wasn’t listening and was continuously reaching under his seat. Upon exiting his car, officers said they noticed a rolled dollar bill that contained what appeared to be heroin. Police searched his car and found glassine baggies containing heroin in his wallet.

According to police, Francis told them he attempted to evade them so he wouldn’t get pulled over.

Police said Francis is currently on probation for prior Narcotics charges.

Francis was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of Drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was held on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on November 14.
