Man shot in New Haven on Thursday dies, suspect remains at large

A 28-year-old man has died after he was shot in New Haven on Thursday morning.  Police Identify him as Jordan Agnew of New Haven. 

Police say at 9:13 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of gunfire and multiple 911 calls that a person was shot in the area of Osborn Avenue and Blake Street, in the Beaver Hills neighborhood. 

According to police, a car was shot at on Blake and Osborn, shattering its windows. The victim then allegedly tried to get away, ending up at Osborn and Pelham Street suffering from a gunshot wound.  A child in a rear seat of the car was not injured.  

Police say that the suspect is still at large. There is no word on what led up to the shooting at this time. 

Police are asking anyone with any information on the shooting to call the detective bureau at 203-946-6304. Callers may remain anonymous.
