(WTNH) — A Meriden woman is accused of stealing food stamps. 38-year-old Jaritza Ortiz was arrested Thursday morning.

Police say she lied on food stamp application forms.

They say those lies led to her getting over $5,500 in benefits, but she actually wasn’t eligible for them.
