Police say that on February 18th, a delivery person from a local restaurant was approached by a suspect on foot in the area of Bridgeport Avenue and Loomis Street. The suspect then pointed a gun at the victim’s neck before taking the victim’s cash and cell phone.
After an extensive investigation, police executed a search warrant at the Bridgeport Avenue home of 27-year-old Maurice Johnson. While executing the warrant, Johnson attempted to jump out of a second floor window but was quickly apprehended.
According to police, evidence from the robbery including clothing, a ski mask and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a 30 round extended magazine, were all seized from the home. The vicitm’s iPhone was also recovered.
Johnson was arrested and charged with robbery, larceny, carrying a pistol without a permit, interfering/resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.
Johnson was held on $100,000 bond.
