GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — New London police are looking into a report of a vehicle in their town that may have been involved in an overnight robbery at a Guilford convenience store.

At 3:41 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Guilford officers were dispatched to the Xtramart at 1675 Boston Post Road, after being tipped off to a robbery by a panic alarm, as well as a 911 call from the Xtramart cashier.

There were no weapons involved in the robbery. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing.

Guilford police have declined to release the description of the vehicle the suspect made off in, but they say it came back to an address in New London. New London police have since checked the address, they say, but the vehicle wasn’t there.

Guilford dispatchers say they notified troopers with Connecticut State Police.
