PD: Man arrested for assaulting Milford officer after breach of peace complaint

A Shelton man was arrested in Milford on Sunday for allegedly striking a police officer after driving around erratically and swearing at residents.

Police say that at around 4 a.m., officers responded to the area of Anderson Avenue near Ashwood Road, for a breach of peace complaint that led to the arrest of 31-year-old Collin Webster.

Webster is accused of driving erratically by an Ashwood Road home and swearing at the residents.

When officers located him a short time later, Webster was allegedly extremely uncooperative and later struck an officer in the face with a closed first while in processing.

He is also accused of attempting to spit on emergency responders.

Webster was charged with breach of peace, interfering with an officer, assault on a police officer, and attempted assault on emergency personnel. He was held on a $25,000 bond.
