PD: Man stabs bouncer outside Middletown restaurant

A restaurant bouncer was injured after he was stabbed in Middletown on Wednesday. 

Police say that officers responded to a call at La Boca Mexican Restaurant at 337 Main Street in Middletown. The bouncer of the restaurant had been stabbed with a knife by another man.

According to police, the suspect, later identified as Robert Carter Watson, is well-known to the officers. When police approached him, he allegedly stated “Yeah, I did it, I cut him, put me away for a hundred years.”

Officers located the knife in his right pants pocket after conducting a search.

Police say that the victim was working as security at La Boca when Watson entered the restaurant.

Watson, who was very intoxicated, was then asked to leave the restaurant by several employees. The victim escorted him outside of the bar area where the incident happened.

Watson was transported to Middletown Police Headquarters and processed with the below listed charges.

  • Assault in the First Degree
  • Carrying a dangerous weapon
  • Criminal trespass in The First Degree
  • Breach of Peace.

He is held on a $200,000.00 bond.
