PD: Naugatuck man arrested for suspected car break ins


Police arrested a Naugatuck man on Friday suspected of breaking into vehicles in the area. 

According to police, officers were dispatched to Horton Hill Road in Naugatuck to investigate a complaint of a suspicious person on Friday at 11:26 p.m. 

Naugatuck police say they located and identified the suspect through witnesses as being responsible for breaking into vehicles in the area.

Officers recovered a steak knife and suspected stolen property from the vehicles from the accused during investigation. 

Police identified the suspect as Ian Place, 18 of Naugatuck, and is being held on a $15,000 bond under larceny, burglary, and other charges.  

Place is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
