Crime

A teen was arrested for allegedly robbing another teen at knife point in Hamden on Tuesday night.

Police say that at around 8:45 p.m., officers met with a 14-year-old resident who reported that he was robbed while walking southbound on Whitney Avenue, in the vicinity of Wakefield Street.

An investigation revealed that the victim was approached by another teen who demanded his cell phone and headphones, while pointing a knife at him.

According to police, officers then arrested a 16-year-old resident of the Children’s Center moments later, who was located on Waite Street and was in possession of the stolen items.

The juvenile was charged with robbery and larceny. He has not been identified due to his age and was taken to the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center.
