Police say that at around 1:30 p.m., a juvenile student at Southington High School, at 720 Pleasant Street, became upset and said he was going to bring a gun to school the following day.
Police then investigated this threat and the student admitted that what he said was wrong and that he had no intention of bringing a weapon to school.
That student has not been identified because he is underage and was referred to juvenile court.
Then at around 5:30 p.m., the School Superintendent called police to report that two parents were concerned about a threat to the school that was made that day. Police also investigated this threat and found that it was related to the one made earlier that afternoon by the student.
While it has been determined that there is no credible threat to the school, there is an increased police presence there as a precaution and to alleviate anxiety on students and staff.
