Suspicious package evacuates New Haven courthouse

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Things are returning to normal at a courthouse in downtown New Haven after a suspicious package was found this morning.

A suspicious package was found at the entrance way of the courthouse on the corner of Church Street and Elm Street around 9 a.m.

The courthouse and prisoners being held inside were evacuated for more than an hour and a half.

The bomb squad checked it out and was determined the package was not a danger. The incident is under investigation.
