Teen arrested on sexual assault charges in Hamden

A Hamden teen was arrested Wednesday morning on charges relating to a 2017 sexual assault.

Police say at around 5:30 a.m., members of the United States Marshal Service Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 18-year-old James Thompson at his home on William Street. 

According to police, Thompson was wanted for a sexual assault that happened in the northern section of town during the summer of 2017.

Detectives from the Special Victims Unit conducted an extensive investigation which led to the arrest warrant for Thompson. 

Thompson was charged with sexual assault and detained on a $100,000 bond.
