Teen charged with Manslaughter and DUI after killing a man in Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – One woman was charged with manslaughter and driving under the influence after being involved in an accident that killed a man in October of 2015.

Police said 19-year-old Erica Weinman of New Jersey was traveling on I-84 eastbound in the left lane. She left the roadway and crossed over the center median and hit a car that was traveling westbound.

Kevin Klein, 59, of Brookfield, died when his car was hit by Weinman’s according to police. Two other people had minor injuries.

Weinman was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, failure to drive in the proper lane and manslaughter.

She was released on bond and is due in court on October 26.
