Police search for suspect in armed robbery of Hamden dollar store

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) - Police are searching for the man who allegedly robbed a Hamden dollar store at gunpoint on Thursday night. 

Police say that at around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to Family Dollar at 1245 Dixwell Avenue on the report of an armed robbery

An investigation revealed that a man had entered the store and went behind the counter before pulling out a handgun and pointing it at the clerk. He then demanded money and took it from the register.

After that, the suspect fled towards a car that was parked in the rear lot. 

Police say that there were no injuries reported in the robbery but an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.

The suspect is described as a white male who was wearing a ski mask and a hooded sweatshirt.
