Retired CCSU professor arrested in theater accident involving student

NEW BRITAIN,Conn. (WTNH) - A retired Central Connecticut State University professor was arrested on Thursday in connection with a theater accident involving a student. 

CCSU says that Professor Thomas Callery turned himself into the CCSU Police Department after he was informed that there was a warrant for his arrest. He was then charged with interfering with a police officer and reckless endangerment.

According to the university, the charges stem from an accident involving a a student that happened at Maloney Hall's Black Box Theater on March 28th.

While Callery was placed on administrative leave following the incident, he retired before the investigation was completed.

CCSU says they have not released any further details regarding the incident as this is a pending legal matter. 

Callery was released on a $10,000 bond and will be in court on July 26th.
