(WTNH) — The Department of Motor Vehicles says school buses across the state are safe for kids this new school year.
The DMV says it has inspected nearly 11,000 school buses and student transport vehicles.
The state agency tested brakes, lights, heaters, seats, windows and doors.

If a major violation is found, the bus cannot be driven until repairs are made.
The company has 15 days to repair minor violations.
