Dog Events Happening Around Connecticut

News

(WTNH) – As Good Morning Connecticut’s anchor dog, I like to highlight events helping out dogs around the state!

This week, people in Trumbull emailed me about an event happening there this weekend. This Sunday, you can expect to see many dogs wagging around the Trumbull Dog Park for ‘Trumbull Dog Park Day.’ The day was proclaimed by the then-governor in 2008.

To celebrate the day, The Trumbull Dog Owners Group will be hosting a dog wash event. So have your owners drive you to ‘Pet Valu’ on the Monroe Turnpike to get a dog bath! A bath is only $10 and all the money goes back to the Trumbull Dog Park. The wash is taking place this Sunday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

And were you aware that April is National Heartworm Awareness month? I wasn’t until Annie Blumenfeld emailed me. She started a non-profit called ‘Wags 4 Hope’ to help keep us (pets) safe and healthy!

Blumenfeld hosts events and sells artwork (she can paint portraits of us!) to raise money for animals’ medical needs. The money she raises goes directly to local animal shelters.

To check out Blumenfeld’s work, head to her ‘Wags 4 Hope’ Facebook page.

If you know of something dog-related going on around our state, send me (Anchor Dog Nell) an email to Reportit@wtnh.com!
