Arjun, a 9-year-old boy from Orlando, Florida, was Dubai International Airport’s one billionth passenger. His family was greeted from their flight from Orlando with confetti and will be treated to a four day experience in Dubai.
I am proud and humbled by this achievement and thank the DXB team, led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. We are committed to remaining the first choice in transporting people across borders, helping them fulfill dreams, meet loved ones, and discover the world’s wonders. pic.twitter.com/nhMj83ra1i— HH Sheikh Mohammed (@HHShkMohd) December 20, 2018
The airport called the feat “significant” in a long list of achievements since it first opened back in September of 1960 when it had a tiny terminal building and a runway of compacted sand!
