STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Stratford teachers are looking for solutions to the town’s education budget.

On Monday, the Stratford Education Association (SEA) announced that, in an effort to close a budget deficit, teachers in Stratford voted to accept a two-day furlough and are looking for “real, sustainable solutions to the town’s education budget.”Related Content: Some upset by Hartford school consolidation plan

“…This vote is a temporary solution to the larger funding issues of the school district,” said Stratford teacher and Stratford Education Association President Michael Fiorello.

The town’s teachers are calling on the Town Council and the Board of Education to work with the superintendent and the SEA on long-term solutions.
