Children clean up New Haven’s Edgewood Park

Environment

A park in New Haven received a little TLC on Wednesday.

The Solar Youth Stewards cleaned up Edgewood Park.

The group, made up of children, is dedicated to protecting and restoring the Long Island Sound.

This project was a way for them to learn about pollution, water filtering and watersheds.

“I picked up scrappers and I picked up a soda can,” Trevon Williams. “It’s making the world better so the Long Island Sound doesn’t have to die.”

The Solar Youth Stewards say they hope to teach others about the impacts of pollution and habitat loss.
