NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The first “green” parking lot in the state is now in New Haven.
The grand opening was Friday on State Street.
A giant rain garden will help consolidate all the drainage. It will prevent any additional rain water from getting into the sewer system.
“Any monthly pass holder is able to buy parking from us on a monthly basis. In addition, we are going to re-evaluate if we will have a multi-space meter,” said New Haven Parking Authority Acting Executive Director Douglas Hausladen.
77 additional park spots have been added. Parking is available at the State/Trumbull parking lot during the daytime and evening.
