Mystic Aquarium kicking off ‘No-Straw November’

Environment

Mystic Aquarium is teaming up with 22 aquariums across the country for “No-Straw November.”

The goal of the initiative is to encourage the reduction of single-use plastics.

By banding together, the aquariums hope to create plastic-free waters.

Plastic pollution is a complex problem; there’s no one single solution, but as Katie Cubina, Mystic Aquarium’s Senior Vice President, Mission Programs, says, “Thankfully there are simple actions we can take to help our ocean planet and its inhabitants. Every change, even small changes, are a step in the right direction.”

The campaign runs through Earth Day 2019.

You can sign up for the challenge for seven days by texting “MYSTIC” to 49767.
