Police in Old Saybrook tell News 8 that a suspicious package was sent to a business in a busy shopping plaza on Main Street in Old Saybrook Friday morning.

The package was delivered to a business in the plaza located at 263 Main Street.

There is a Planned Parenthood office in this particular shopping plaza, but officers tell News 8 that the Planned Parenthood was not the target of the suspicious package. As a safety precaution, Planned Parenthood announced they have canceled all of their morning appointments for Friday.

Old Saybrook officials remain on scene, but the Federal Bureau of Investigation has assumed the lead on the investigation.
