Fire crews investigate explosion in New Haven


Fire crews responded to an explosion in New Haven on Tuesday morning. 

The New Haven Fire Department said that crews were on scene at a scrap metal yard at 808 Washington Avenue for a fire and an explosion. 

Firefighters said there was a fire in a piece of equipment. 

No one was injured in the blast. 

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and OSHA were also called to the scene. 

There is no word on the cause of the explosion.
