Fire crews were dispatched to Franklin Street in Meriden on Monday morning for a house fire call.
Officials say the call came in at 7:25 a.m. for a working structure fire took place on 119 Franklin Street in Meriden and heavy smoke could be seen. The fire was located in the basement of the structure.
Heavy smoke rose to the second floor.
Firefighters say that the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire because it was undergoing renovations. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Officials confirmed that the fire was put out and the building was ventilated.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
