Former Hartford police officer arrested following Tuesday standoff


A former Hartford police officer was arrested on Tuesday night after a standoff with authorities.

Officials said they received a domestic disturbance call at a home in Manchester.

Prior to police arrival, the suspect, 34-year-old Kamil Stachowicz, fled in a vehicle to Vernon.

He was later located at a home on Butternut Lane.

Police said he was barricaded inside for 40 minutes before eventually surrendering to police.

Stachowicz was arrested and is facing several charges, including disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor.

He was terminated by the Hartford Police Department in Aug. 2015.

No one was hurt during Tuesday’s standoff.
