Google is celebrating a big birthday on Thursday.

It has been 20 years since two Stanford Ph.D. students rented out a garage and built the now-famous internet search engine.

The Google Doodle celebrated the major milestone with a flashback to life in the late 90s, complete with doodles of the Y2K scare, demoting Pluto as a planet and the rise of selfies.
