Hamden leaders host hunger summit

News

There are growing concerns over people going hungry in Hamden.

That’s why the town’s Food Security Task Force is raising awareness with a summit Thursday morning.

Town leaders will also be there to discuss the issues of food hardship and listen to the experiences of people who rely on the emergency food system in Hamden.

According to the task force, one in seven Hamden residents experience hunger or food insecurity.

The summit will take place at Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum in Hamden from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
