Hamden PD: 2 teens found sleeping in car arrested with crack


Two teens were arrested on drug charges in Hamden after they were allegedly found sleeping in a car on Saturday morning. 

Police say that at around 5:30 a.m., officers approached a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Goodrich Street when they found two males sleeping inside. 

An investigation then led police to search the vehicle, where they say they found a bag containing 2.4 grams of crack cocaine, as well as 95 empty plastic bags. 

Police then arrested 19-year-old Daiquan Hyman, of Hamden. He was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics with the Intent to Sell, No Insurance, Misuse of Plates, Operating without a License and Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle. He was held on a $25,000 bond.

A 17-year-old New Haven boy was also arrested but police are not releasing his identity because he is underage. However, he was charged with Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Narcotics with the Intent to Sell and will appear in Juvenile Court.
