HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Hamden police have arrested a registered sex offender for failing to comply with registration requirements.

On September 9, 2015 the Hamden Police Department was notified by the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Sex Offender Registry Unit that registered sex offender Rodney Lee Johnson Jr. had not been in compliance with the sex offender unit. Johnson had failed to verify his address.

Sergeant Colin Kearns conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Johnson. The arrest warrant application was approved by the court.

On February 3rd Hamden Police arrested Johnson. Johnson, 30, of 295 Division Street, New Haven was charged with 2 counts of Failure of Sex Offender to Verify Address. Johnson, who was released on a Written Promise to Appear, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on February 17th.
