HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Hamden police are investigating a shooting that transported one 23-year-old local to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Around 11:30 p.m. on July 8, Hamden officers were dispatched to the area of Fairview Avenue and Arch Street after receiving reports of shots fired.
They soon found a 23-year-old local, sitting on the steps of a Arch Street home. He was shot in the hip, and subsequently transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for his injuries, which police say were not life threatening.
As it stands, the investigation has revealed that a group of black men were arguing with another group, who were inside a car. A witness told police that after the shooting stopped, the group on foot ran southbound on Fairview Avenue.
Anyone with any relevant information is asked to contact Detective Jomo Crawford of the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division at (203) 230-4040.
